Application Process
Applications
Applications to the Pediatric Residency Training Program must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Since our residency program information is web-based, we will be responding to the applicants electronically.
To apply to our program, the the following documents are required:

Personal statement
-
Dean's letter
-
Medical school transcript
-
USMLE Step 1 (Via ERAS) and Step 2 (due by January 15th via ERAS) scores

Minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation (applicant's choice, Department Chair's letter is optional)
Application deadline is November 1st of recruitment year.
Medical students interested in serving a clerkship/elective at UCSD may contact Adrian Edwards in the office of Student Affairs via email: a1edwards@ucsd.edu for application material.
Interview
All applications received by our program will be reviewed. Applicants who are invited for an interview will be notified by e-mail through the ERAS system. Unfortunately, due to the increased volume of applications, we cannot interview all applicants.
Interviews will be conducted from November 16, 2009 through January 22, 2010 weekdays (except Wednesdays). New this year,we will begin scheduling interviews in early October through mid November. The interview day will last from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m . During the visit, applicants will have opportunities to meet with members of our clinical staff, full-time faculty and house staff. A tour of Rady Children's Hospital San Diego will be included in the interview day.
The program cannot provide overnight accommodations, but will recommend accommodations that are reasonably priced and located close to Rady Children's Hospital.
