INPATIENT, OUTPATIENT
The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology cares for children with endocrine disorders, lipid disorders and diabetes mellitus. The division is a participant in the multidisciplinary Prader-Willi clinic. Outpatient endocrinology clinics are located at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego and in satellite offices in San Diego, Imperial and Riverside Counties. Over the past year, there were more than 7,000 endocrine/diabetes outpatient visits, and almost 1,000 children with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus were routinely seen by the diabetes service. The Diabetes Center at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego received the American Diabetes Association Recognition Award for meeting the standards of education in diabetes self-management.
